Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Noff processes and how your information is handled.

Effective date: 2026-03-08
Last updated: 2026-07-23

Overview

Noff is an intentional disconnection app that runs locally on your device. It uses Screen Time controls, NFC interactions, and local state to help reduce impulsive app usage.

Data Processed On Device

  • Focus state data, including whether Focus is active and when sessions start and end.
  • Recovery and emergency state used for unlock timing and safeguards.
  • NFC pairing and validation data used to verify your paired tag.
  • Focus profile configuration, including selected blocked apps, categories, and web domains.
  • Metrics data (such as session count and duration summaries) used to show progress.

Website and Email

  • If you contact us by email, we process your email address and message so we can reply.
  • Email is handled by your email provider and our email hosting provider.
  • We retain those messages as reasonably needed for support or legal obligations. You can request deletion by contacting us.
  • The website stores a first-party NEXT_LOCALE cookie for up to one year to remember your language choice. It is not used for tracking.
  • The website uses PostHog's EU service to measure visits and interactions and diagnose errors. PostHog may process page URLs, interaction events, browser and device information, IP-derived location, and browser identifiers. The Noff iOS app does not include PostHog.

Permissions

Noff may request permissions needed for app features:

  • Screen Time authorization to apply app, category, and web shields during Focus.
  • NFC access to pair and verify your unlock tag.

Internet and Data Sharing

  • Noff does not require an internet connection for core functionality.
  • The Noff app does not send your Focus, NFC, or metrics data to developer-operated servers.
  • Noff does not require an account to function.
  • The Noff app does not use analytics SDKs, ad networks, or third-party trackers. The website uses PostHog as described above and does not use ad networks.
  • Noff does not sell personal information and only shares email data with providers needed to deliver email.

Storage and Retention

  • Data is stored locally on your device using iOS local and secure storage mechanisms.
  • Noff retains local data as needed to provide its features.
  • Noff does not currently provide an in-app control that guarantees deletion of every locally stored item.

Security

Noff uses iOS secure storage mechanisms for sensitive local state. While we apply reasonable safeguards, no storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Controls

  • You can manage permissions from iOS Settings at any time.
  • You can delete individual Focus profiles while Focus is inactive.
  • You can uninstall Noff to remove its app container. Some information managed by iOS, such as Keychain data, may be retained according to Apple's system behavior.
